Wayne Hodge tournament set for Friday

Starting this weekend, the Lady Cyclones will be hosting the annual Wayne Hodge State Farm Tournament.
The tournament, which will be played at Elizabethton High School and the little league fields located near the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, will begin on Friday. The first games will start at 4:30 p.m. as Happy Valley takes on North Greene at EHS while Sullivan East and Crockett play at the little league fields.
At 6 p.m., Happy Valley will face Sullivan Central (EHS) as Sullivan South plays Morristown East (little league field 1). The action continues at 7:30 with Central playing North Greene (EHS) and Crockett battling Sullivan South (little league field 1). Friday’s action will be capped off with Elizabethton playing Morristown East at 9 p.m. at EHS.
Play will continue Saturday with all games being played at the little league field. At 9 a.m., Unaka will play Sullivan East as Elizabethton plays Central. At 10:30 a.m., Crockett and Happy Valley will play while Elizabethton plays North Greene. At noon, Unaka will take on South while Sullivan East plays Morristown East.
Once the noon games are played, the teams will be seeded into two divisions, gold and silver.
The playoffs will go as followed.
Gold Division at EHS
2 p.m.— No. 1 seed vs. No. 4 seed
3:30 p.m.—No. 2 seed vs. No. 3 seed
5 p.m.—Championship
Silver Division at Little League Fields
2 p.m.—No. 8 vs. No. 9
3:30 p.m.—No. 6 vs. No. 7
5 p.m.— Winner of 8/9 vs. No. 5
6:30 p.m.— Championship
