First United Methodist
The public is invited to Sunday services at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. E St.
The morning service will begin at 9:55 a.m. and will feature the message “A Life Filled With Resurrection Fruit,” based on John 15: 1-8. Sunday School is at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Senior High group will meet Sunday from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Wednesday evening Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Riverview Baptist
The Rev. Dave Shorter will be the guest preacher at the Sunday morning worship service April 29 at Riverview Baptist Church, located on Broad Street Ext.
The service will begin at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Shorter is well known in the area, having pastored for a time at Fairview Baptist Church. He is the brother of the late Larry Shorter, former pastor at Riverview.
Mark Grubb, pastor, invites the public to attend.
First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will continue his series of messages from the series “But Christ…” at the morning worship service at First Christian Church, Elizabethton.
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
The communion meditation will be given by Eric Dunlap, and scripture will be read by Deborah Knapp. Ardith Sheffield will have special music.
Bible School classes will meet at 11 a.m.
The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m., when a new lesson series by Kay Arthur will begin.
The Tuesday Morning prayer group led by John Smith will meet at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.
The Wednesday evening Bible Study and prayer time will be at 6 p.m. Also, visitation teams will go out at 6 p.m.
Ladies Circles will meet Thursday.

Area Singspiration
The Area Singspiration, sponsored by the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship, will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at Southside Christian Church, 1610 Southside Road.
The service theme is “In Christ Alone” with Phillip Smith as worship leader.
The service will feature congregational singing as well as soloists and ensemblers from area Christian churches.
The public is invited to attend.
East Side Christian
East Side Christian Church, Siam Road, will celebrate Friend Day Sunday at the morning service.
The service will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature Minister and Mrs. John Smith with their latest sermon in song entitled “Jesus Loves Me.”
A fellowship lunch will follow in the fellowship hall.
Unaka Baptist
The Brotherhood at Unaka Baptist Church will host a country-style breakfast Sunday from 7 to 10 a.m.
The menu will include biscuits, gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.
The cost is $7 with proceeds going to the church building fund.
Everyone is invited.
Elk River
A benefit singing will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Elk River Baptist Church, 5117 Highway 321, Butler.
The singing will benefit Wendell and Cindy Phillips, who have dealt with various illnesses and hospital and nursing home stays. A love offering will be received for the Phillips family.
The singing will feature Sacred Journey, Sounds of Victory and Jennifer Gillenwater.
The pastor is the Rev. Larry Pearson.

Bethlehem Lutheran
Morning worship at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City, will be held Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The message for both services is titled “Remain In Me” based on John 15: 1-8.
Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
The church is located at 201 E. Watauga Ave. The Rev. Steven Harmon is pastor.

Upper Gap Creek
Gospel Grass, a Christian Bluegrass group, will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church. A love offering will be received.
Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no evening service.
Sunday School begins at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Dale Blevins is pastor and invites the public to attend.
First Presbyterian
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will deliver the sermon at morning worship Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. His sermon text is I Cor. 12: 12-14, 24-27.
The service begins at 11 a.m. An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday; and yoga Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
