Albert David Teilhet

Albert David Teilhet, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a son of the late Albert Louis and Elizabeth Jane Roux Teilhet and was born in Sharon, Pa.
Mr. Teilhet was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the Tennessee Army National Guard. He served as a Marine during the Cuban Missile Crisis and with the Tennessee Army National Guard during operation Desert Storm. He held a Master’s Degree and was the Principal City Planner for the Tennessee State Planning Office. He attended Elizabethton Alliance Church.
Mr. Teilhet was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather and a kind and loyal family man. He was an avid observer of life who loved to read and spend time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 28 years, Shirley Williams Teilhet, of the home; three sons, Timothy Allen Thompson, Jonesborough, William David Teilhet and his wife, April, and John Pierre Teilhet and his wife, Bethany, all of Johnson City; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Fortier and her husband, Sean, Longview, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Christina Bryant and her husband, Dylan, Ashley Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Tira Thompson, William Fisher Teilhet, Emma Teilhet, Eli Teilhet, Woods Teilhet, Sarah Fortier, Caleb Fortier and his wife, Abigail, Anna Fretz and her husband, Nathan, and Katie Fortier; a brother, Robert L. Teilhet and his wife, Debbie; and a sister, Beth May and her husband, Troy. Several beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mr. Teilhet will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Elizabethton Alliance Church, 533 East Elk Avenue, Elizabethton, with Pastor Louie O’Bourke officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. A private inurnment service will be conducted at a later time.
