The Patton-Simmons Cemetery Decoration Day Service will be held at 11 a.m. The cemetery is located on Toll Branch Road. For more information, call 423-367-2930.
The Whitehead Cemetery Memorial Day Service will be held at 2 p.m. The cemetery is located on Hwy. 321, off Cable Hollow Road, Butler. The meeting will be held at the Elk River Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Donations will be received for maintenance of the cemetery. Watauga Valley Fife and Drums from 10 a.m. until noon. The Fife & Drum Corps performs at historical events, dedications, and parades. This group is open to anyone ages 13 & up. Musical experience is welcome but not necessary; just come with a willingness to learn. Meet at the Sycamore Shoals Visitors Center. Lessons are free of charge, just call and let us know you’re coming.

Lakeview Cemetery, Inc. will have its annual meeting at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. Officers will be elected for the coming year. If you have a friend or relative buried at Lakeview and wish to help with the maintenance, make your tax deductible donation to Robert L. White, 159 Hickory Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The Walnut Mountain Cemetery Association Meeting and Dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Former residents of the Walnut Mountain community, along with many of their descendants and friends, will gather at the cemetery for the annual covered dish dinner. Please bring enough food for your family plus a little for company. If you can’t make it to the dinner and would like to donate money for the upkeep and mowing of the cemetery, please mail your donation to Walnut Mountain Cemetery Association, C/O Sheila Morton, 931 Rittertown Road, Hampton, TN 37658.
Old Time Music Jam – Led by Art Lang from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area. Enjoy the rich musical traditions of our region each month. Old time musicians of all levels are welcome. Don’t play an instrument? Come on over, kick back, and enjoy the tunes!

The Highlander Band’s 5th Annual Bike Ride will be held at Roan Mountain Business Complex, 7996 Highway 19E, Roan Mountain. Biker entry is $20 per bike; $5 per passenger. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with wheels out at 12 p.m. Return to Smokey Mountain Bakery at 4 p.m. for a benefit concert. Headlining the concert is the Roan Crows. All participants will receive a $2 coupon for Smokey Mountain Bakery. Rain date for the ride is June 23.
Highlander Summer Jam, a benefit concert for the Cloudland High Band, will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. at Smoky Mountain Bakers featuring live music by The Roan Crows. “Steppin” Out Cloudland Community Coffee House, Cloudland Chamber Group. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
