Robert K. “Rob” Simerly, 84, of Hampton, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at Signature Health Care.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Jesse Fred and Effie Carver Simerly.
Robert was retired as a Sheet Metal Worker at Allied Metals, Johnson City. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Hazelwood Simerly; three infant children; and a brother, Charles Simerly.
Survivors include his children, Shelia Hayes and special friend, Bob Williams, Johnson City, and Fred Simerly and wife Jan, Hampton; two grandchildren, Misty Star Hardin and Lashea Hayes; six great-grandchildren, Devan Hayes, Jaelyn Hardin, Tynneson Hardin, Justyce Haynes, Karma Haynes and Khaos Hayes.
Funeral services for Robert K. “Bob” Simerly will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doug Hinshaw officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, in the Collins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday.
