JCPD: One transported following car, county school bus crash

One individual was transported to a local hospital while a school-aged student received minor injuries following a crash that took place Monday afternoon between a car and a Carter County school bus near Milligan Highway.
The scene was worked by Johnson City emergency personnel. Preliminary information from the incident indicates the school bus was stopped at the stop sign at Twin Oaks Drive, beside the Shell gas station and Dunkin’ Donuts. Reportedly, a blue Honda Accord was driving near the location when it lost control, striking the front of the bus. The driver of the Honda was taken to a local hospital while one student in the bus received minor injuries and did not have to be transported.
According to Sgt. Tim Parker with the Johnson City Police Department, the investigation on the incident is still ongoing.
