First Presbyterian
The Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, pastor, will preach Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. Morning worship is at 11 a.m. and the scripture reading is Matt. 13: 1-11.
An Education Hour for all ages is at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. The group is presently reading Elizabeth Catte’s “What You Are Getting Wrong About Appalachia.”
Yoga is Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, will have its monthly clothes closet Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Pinecrest Christian
Revival will be held at Pinecrest Christian Church Aug. 5-8 with J.C. Anderson as guest speaker.
Services Sunday will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Special music will be provided nightly. Featured singers include: Joel Crisp, Sunday morning; Sunnyside, Sunday evening; IIIrd Day Resurrection, Monday; Sunshine, Tuesday; and Wednesday, Bobby McGee.
Pinecrest Christian is located at 124 Woodland Drive, Johnson City.

First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will speak Sunday at morning worship at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. He will continue his series of sermons from the Book of Amos. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
Dr. David Mills will lead worship and Gene Estep will give the communion meditation. Randy Brockley will read scripture and Ardith Sheffield will have special music.
Bible School classes will meet at 11 a.m.
Sunday will be Friendly Fund Sunday, and funds will be collected to be used for bereaved families.
The evening service will be held at 6 p.m. with Troy Boone, Director of Socks for Christ, speaking.
The Tuesday morning prayer group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary with John Smith leading the service.

Sims Hill
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Sims Hill Christian Church.
There will be no Sunday School, with the morning service beginning at 10:30 a.m. with special music by the church choir and others.
Following the service, a covered dish meal will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no evening service.
All former members and ministers as well as friends of the congregation are invited.

Valley Forge U-M
Free school clothes will be given away Saturday, Aug. 11, at Valley Forge United Methodist Church, 3974 Highway 19E.
Boys and girls clothing sizes 8-10 and teen sizes will be available for give-away.

Biltmore Baptist
Biltmore Baptist Church will have a yard sale and bake sale Saturday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church fellowship hall. There will be something for everyone.
All proceeds will benefit the church’s Senior Ministry.
The church is located at 1181 Bristol Highway.

First United Methodist
The Rev. Raymond Amos, Sr. will present the communion message “Evermore Give Us This Bread” at the Sunday morning service Aug. 5 at First United Methodist Church. The sermon is based on scripture from John 6: 24-35.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The Junior High 4:12 Student Ministries meets each Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.
Life Lessons is presented each Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall by Pastor Amos.

Hopwood Christian
Hopwood Christian Church, Milligan College, will return to its fall schedule for Sunday morning services Aug. 5.
Worship services will be held at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with Sunday School at 10 a.m.
