The tireless work put in by Anna Z. Banner will be forever remembered in the City of Elizabethton. Recently, City Manager Daniel Estes presented Anna Z. Banner with a proclamation on her 100th birthday recognizing Aug. 1 as Anna Z. Banner Day. Anna is a member of the Elizabethton Business & Professional Women’s group and received the proclamation Monday as part of a birthday celebration hosted by the BPW group. Anna was joined by friends and local BPW members. Anna served as a World War II Army nurse and has been active in the community since moving to Elizabethton in the 1940s.
