Jimmie Carl Bowling

Jimmie Carl Bowling, 71, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at his residence. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Bill and Anna Mae Luttrell Bowling.
Mr. Bowling received his Bachelor’s Degree from E.T.S.U. and was a computer technician. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in Hawaii while in the military and was on the set of the popular war movie, “Tora – Tora – Tora” which was filmed in 1970. He was of the Baptist faith; enjoyed assembling model airplanes and was a World War II buff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William H. “Bill” Bowling.
Those left to cherish his memory include a brother, John R. Bowling, Elizabethton, and four nephews, Ty Bowling, Todd Bowling, Terry Bowling and Johnny Bowling, all of Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jimmie Carl Bowling will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Shane Waters officiating. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Bowling, Jonathan Bowling, Nathaniel Bowling, John Luke Bowling and Terry Bowling. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone attending the service is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may made donations to the Carter County Humane Society, P.O.
