Upper Gap Creek
“Friend Day” will be observed Sunday at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 1380 Dry Creek Road.
Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. At the 11 a.m. service the Sounds of Victory will present special singing. A love offering will be received.
Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no evening service.

New Life Christian
New Life Christian Church will begin a teaching series Sunday called “The War Room.”
The story is on the power of prayer to change lives and circumstances.
New Life Church meets at 1449 Highway 19-E in Elizabethton. Sunday worship begins at 1 p.m.

Carter County Singspiration
The area singspiration sponsored by the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. at First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Ave., Elizabethton. This singspiration promises to be on a grand scale as the theme is the second coming of Christ. Congregational singing will be featured as well as special music provided by participating congregations.
John H. Smith is worship planner and leader, with Mary Smith and Scott Reynolds providing accompaniment.
The public is cordially invited to attend.
Watauga Valley
Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist will celebrate homecoming Sunday with the Joyaires presenting special music at the 11 a.m. worship service. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m.
Following the morning worship service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
All former members and friends of the congregation are invited.

Big Springs Church of Christ
Big Springs Church of Christ will celebrate homecoming Sunday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Bob Allen with special music provided by Larry Jeffers.
Lunch will be served following the morning service.
Revival with Bob Allen will be held Oct. 15-17 with services at 7 p.m. each evening. Special music will be also be featured at each service.
Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will celebrate homecoming and their 83rd anniversary Sunday at services beginning at 10:30 a.m.
There will not be any Sunday School that day.
David Clark, a former minister, who is now serving as minister at Boones Creek Christian Church, will be the guest speaker. Special music will be shared by members of the congregations as well as others.
Following the morning service, there will be a covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall.
Carter Christian Church was established in 1935 with land donated to the church by I.F. Shankle. Sunday School rooms were constructed in 1958. In 1969 four more classrooms were added. The property and house across from the old church were purchased in 1972, and a Fellowship Hall was completed in 1996.
With God’s guidance a building plan was adopted for a new church. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new church was held August 4, 2002 and dedication of the new building to God was held November 14, 2004. The note that represented the remaining debt on the new church building was burned January 14, 2007. Everyone is invited. First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will continue his new series “Jesus Speaks!” at morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. His sermon is titled “Pergamum: Live Holy,” based on Rev. 2:12-17.
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Dr. David Mills leading worship. The communion meditation will be given by Drew Pearson, and Eric Dunlap will read the morning scripture. Lorrie Case will have special music.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
The church will host the Carter County Christian Men’s Singspiration Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
The Tuesday morning prayer group led by John Smith will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.
The Wednesday evening Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Ladies Circles will be Thursday, Oct. 4.

Hampton Christian
A fall festival will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton (across from the Hampton High School baseball field).
There will be activities along with homemade cakes, pies, breads, and candies.
East Side Christian
East Side Christian Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
David Smith will be the guest speaker for the morning service and Loretta Bowers will present special music.
A revival will be held at the church Oct. 1-3.
Cobbs Creek
Revival will be held Oct. 7-9 at Cobbs Creek Baptist Church, 150 Church St., Butler.
Services will be held each evening at 6:30 p.m. and will feature the Rev. Ray Vaught as guest speaker. Special music will be presented by the Evergreen Baptist Choir, Sunday; the Central Baptist Choir, Monday; and Bakers Gap Baptist Choir, Tuesday.

Little Doe Free Will
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church, Simerly Creek Road.
Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m. Special singing will be presented at the worship service by the Little Doe Youth Choir of the 1970s.
Following the morning service a homecoming meal will be served.
There will be no evening service.
The pastor, the Rev. Shane Waters, and the congregation invite the public to attend.
First Presbyterian
The worship service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will feature a labyrinth walk and focus on our journey. The service begins at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages is at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; and yoga, Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
