Jennifer Mitra-Cruz, 42, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of the Philippines, she was the daughter of Amalia “Mally” Cruz and the late Dr. Teodorico “Ted” Cruz Jr.
Jennifer was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Elizabethton High School. Jennifer was very generous and kind-hearted. She worked in health care for many years, was very compassionate with the elderly, and loved by her patients.
Jennifer enjoyed hiking, animals, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. She loved nature and being outdoors.
In addition to her mother, those left to cherish Jennifer’s memory include her daughters, Victoria Nicole Cruz and Alexandria Madison Cruz, both of Elizabethton; a brother, Jeffrey Cruz and his wife, Kristina, of Johnson City; a beloved nephew and niece, Nick and Lorelai Cruz; and many other extended family members who loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the ICU and 4th floor of Johnson City Medical Center and all others who cared for her during her illness.
A funeral mass to honor the life of Jennifer will take place at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Monday, October 8. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
