Ricky D. “Bubba” Campbell

Ricky D. “Bubba” Campbell, 59, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Carl W. Campbell and Martha Jane Cole Campbell.
“Bubba” had worked for the City of Elizabethton in the Water and Sewer Department. He was of the Baptist faith. “Bubba” loved to watch football, loved his dog Chico and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis E. Fair.
Those left to cherish his memory include a sister, Sharon Jones and husband Doug, Johnson City; a niece, Holly Irick, Hampton; and a cousin, Linda Reese, Hampton.
The family will hold a Gathering of Remembrance at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13, at Keystone Freewill Baptist Church, 110 Betty Street, Johnson City, Tenn., with the Rev. Bernie Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Howell Woods, Justin Colbaugh, Freddie Julian, Doug Colbaugh, James Hughes, Kirbie Carpenter, Marc Campbell, Larry Street, Steve Woody Guinn, Grady Hill, Carl Tester, Doug Blevins, the employees of the Elizabethton Water Treatment Plant and all of the River Rats. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may made donations to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 134, Elizabethton, TN 37644.
