Jr. Rangers top Surgoinsville to open playoffs

- Star Photo/Bryce Phillips Jr. Rangers Landon Ramsey had three passing and one rushing touchdown during his team's playoff game at Surgoinsville City Monday.
The Unaka Jr. Rangers left no doubt Monday as they made their way over to Surgoinsville to open up the 2018 TMSSAA East Sectional Area 1-A Playoffs.
Behind a big performance from quarterback Landon Ramsey, the Jr. Rangers rolled to a 22-6 win earning them a semifinals matchup at Rogersville on Thursday at 6 p.m. The winner of Thursday night’s game will then play the winner of Thursday’s game between Bulls Gap and Hampton in the championship on Monday, October 15.
During Monday’s win, Ramsey had three passing touchdowns and one rushing TD to pace the Jr. Rangers. Ramsey connected with teammate Joez Blamo twice while also throwing a TD pass to Ryan Peters.
