Lonnie Dale Cardwell

Lonnie Dale Cardwell, 68, of the Biltmore Community of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Estella Hodges Cardwell.
Mr. Cardwell was self-employed as a floor covering installer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith and he loved fishing and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Miller, and two brothers, Jesse Cardwell and Dean Cardwell.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Stephan Cardwell of Germany; nephews and nieces, Bob Miller and wife Melanie, Elizabethton, Lisa McKinney and husband Greg, Elizabethton, David Miller and wife Dulci, Bluff City, Michael Miller and wife Angela, Elizabethton, Phillip Cardwell, Tim Cardwell, Pam Cardwell Brown, Kimberly Cardwell Fine and Ruth Cardwell Best, all of Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Mary Cardwell of Louisiana; a special friend, Martha Goins, Elizabethton; and his best friend, Toby.
A service to honor the life of Lonnie Dale Cardwell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Todd Ellis officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Scott Reynolds. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, in the Bradley Cemetery, Johnson County, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
