TA Dugger snares three wins over Robinson

It was a busy night on the middle school hardwood as T.A. Dugger tangled with Robinson in four games with the Jr. Cyclones getting the upper hand in 3 of the 4 contests.

In dominating fashion, the Jr. Lady Cyclone junior varsity team rolled to a convincing 25-8 win.

Marlee Mathena continued her strong play in the early season scoring 9 points to show the way for TAD. Reiley Whitson also had a nice game finishing with seven points.

Kayelyn Nave finished with four points while Mollie Johnson added two. Jocelin Julian closed out the scoring with one point.

Cody and Hickman led Robinson with two points apiece.

Varsity

Coach Matt Fox’s team rolled to a big 17-point win over Robinson in the varsity girls contest.

Lina Lyons buried four treys and added a field goal to finish as the game-high scorer with 14 points to lead the Lady Jr. Cyclones.

Lyons had plenty of help as six of her teammates made their presence known in the scoring column.

Makenzie Depew followed Lyons with 11 points including three treys of her own and a field goal. Renna Lane scored 5 points while Maddie Fowler netted 4 points in a contributing role.

Kenidy Harris, Katie Lee, and Marlee Mathena dropped in 2 points each to close out the scoring for the Jr. Lady Cyclones.

Frye with 8 points and Evans with 5 led the way for Robinson.

Boys

In boy’s action, the T.A. Dugger junior varsity Jr. Cyclones squeaked out a hard-fought 39-36 win over Robinson.

Jeriah Griffin had a big game to lead TAD as he would tally 11 points, 3 assist and 6 steals in a complete game effort.

Will Churchill was close behind connecting for 9 points and 6 rebounds. Luke Whaley chipped in with 8 points to help push his team to victory.

Eli Blevins (4), Zion Reddick (4), Mason Ball (3), and Mac Paulson (2) helped to close out the scoring for TAD.

Painter and Griffin scored 8 points apiece to lead Robinson.
