Helen Marie Duncan, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness.
A native of Butler, she was a daughter of the late William Andrew Duncan Sr. and Eliza Greenwell Duncan.
Helen was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a retired secretary for the U.S. Navy Department in Washington, D.C. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Harrison; two brothers, WA Duncan Jr. and Fred Duncan; and a great-nephew, Cody Montgomery.
Survivors include a niece, Brenda H. Brown; a great-niece, Lisa Brown Montgomery and husband David; a great-nephew, Joe Brown Jr.; and two great-great-nephews, Seth Montgomery and Houston Brown.
The graveside service for Helen Marie Duncan will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. David Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow the service. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of West Hall, Life Care Center, Elizabethton.
