West Side’s Nave captures All-American status

Westside Elementary third-grader Arvella Nave hasn’t been doing cross country long.
Nave, however, is already doing some big things in the sport.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the young harrier competed in the AAU Cross Country National Championships in Knoxville where Nave placed sixth overall in the 7-to 8-year-old, 2000-meter run. The event featured 86 runners, and Nave’s finish was good enough for All-American status.
Nave, who started competing for the running club at West Side Elementary in September, finished with a time of 9:12.65.
