Cecelia R. Morrell passed away on December 17, 2018 after a short illness. She was born on August 22, 1933 in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Ralph Stuart and Nancy Alma Depew.
She is survived by her siblings, R.S. Depew, Char Bozae and Geina Ruth Carter, and preceded in death by Dottie Kelly, Janie Seal, Carol Louise Cooke and W.L. Depew. She married the love of her life, Mack Hayden Morrell, on August 3, 1953, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Jim M. Morrell (Diane) and Jeanne Ball (Jim); grandchildren, James L. (Lindsay) Morrell, Jason (Jessica) Ball and Jennifer (Kirtus) Thacker; and great-grandchildren, Rianna, Gage and Corick Thacker, Dominick Ball and Savene Morrell.
Cecelia was also cherished by her extended family, the Martinez’s. It started with Raymond, then Jim married Diane and she later became our second Mom and “Grandma Cecelia” to many grandchildren. She was a dear friend to Bennie and always there for us.
Cecelia was an amazing Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma (MiMi). She loved to read, drink coffee, swim, and go to the farmers market. She also enjoyed gardening and time spent around her Koi pond. Most of all she loved her family; her children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren as well as her extended family. They were all the joy of her life. She was kind, gentle and a friend to everyone who knew and loved her. There are no words to describe how deeply she will be missed.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, assistants and technicians at Intermountain Medical Center who went above and beyond to care for Mom. They were diligent in her care and very compassionate in her passing.
Funeral services will be private.
