Marthe Kay Blevins Barker

Marthe Kay Blevins Barker, 63, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Hermitage Health Center. She was born October 7, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised by her special mother, Sarah Jane Barker. She had lived most of her life in Carter County.
Marthe was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She formerly worked as a CNA at Hermitage Health Center; her last employment was at The Barn Shop. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren, her work and making new friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Blevins.
Survivors include three children, Matthew Hammett, Sara Glover and husband Travis and Robert Scott Hammett; seven grandchildren, Ethan Hammett, Sarah Hammett, Jazmine Hammett, Hunter Hammett, Dakota Miller, Drew Glover and Thomas Woods; one great-grandson, Keane Woods; her brother, Dallas Barker and wife Alice; and two uncles, Lewis Blevins and wife Jenny, and Dallas Blevins.
A memorial service for Marthe Kay Blevins Barker will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5, at North Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Dickenson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
