Mary Lucille Snyder Hamilton, 87, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mary was born March 18, 1931 in Shouns, Tenn., to the late Milton and Pearl Lovelace Snyder. She had lived in Maryland and Ohio for a number of years before returning to Johnson City.
Mary was retired from Housekeeping at East Tennessee State University. She was known for her great cooking and her loving and generous spirit. She was a member of Martindale Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Hamilton; one daughter, Sally; three brothers, Bill, Jake and Jim Snyder; two sisters, Chasie McKinney and Debbie Snyder; and a nephew, Rufus.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steve (Teresa) Hamilton; three grandchildren, Sonya, Wendy and Jake; great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Gregory, Chad, Stephanie, Jack, Jordon, Jacob and Jared; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley, Rowan, Reece, Elizabeth and Eliana; two sisters, Sue Rowe (Allen) of Delaware and Nancy Ellison (Jim) of California; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam Hamilton (Mable), Nettie Clark and Virginia Nave (Albert); and her church family.
The graveside service for Mary Lucille Snyder Hamilton will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 6, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Delbert Story officiating. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Hamilton to Martindale Baptist Church, 2406 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
