Joan Newton Bowers, 88, of Florida, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away at Consulate Healthcare in Melbourne, Fla., on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
Joan was retired as a secretary for the Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Borderview Christian Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Evelyn Newton; her sister, Charlotte Newton; and her brother, Fig Newton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Howard Bowers, and three nieces, Linda, Teresa and Diane.
