To the Editor:
I applaud our county commissioners for their majority vote to opt out of limiting or prohibiting smoking in our local parks. It marked a triumph of science, reason and common sense over the repressiveness of political correctness.
Obviously the majority vote didn’t please everyone. Nevertheless, taking a stand against the ever-increasing governmental intrusion into our lives is more important than caving in to every new dictate of the politically correct.
Thank you to those county commissioners who courageously took that stand.
