Lester Brewer

Lester Brewer, 90, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Hampton and Ardie Heaton Brewer.
Mr. Brewer retired as an operator at North American Rayon Corporation after 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ingram Brewer, on November 15, 2012, and by five brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Johnny Brewer and wife Shawana, Knoxville, Tenn., and Gary Brewer and wife Marianna, Hampton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mark Brewer and wife Pennye, Knoxville, Tenn., Eric Brewer and wife Deborah, Maryville, Tenn., Michelle Johnson and husband James, Hampton, Tenn., and Darrin Brewer, Jonesborough, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Matt, Emily, MaCayla, Seth, Bailey and Laken; and a sister, Aline Weber and husband Max, Johnson City, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Lester Brewer will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:40 p.m. Monday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
