First-degree murder suspect John Christopher Ralph has been transported back to the Carter County Detention Center, where has was booked on Wednesday evening.

John Ralph, who is 51 years old, is accused of killing his mother, Edith Betty Ralph. He then attempted to leave the country, but was arrested by federal authorities at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

John Ralph is being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
