New Liberty
New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Sunday, beginning at 7 a.m. when Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Ray Colbaugh, will deliver a sunrise service message.
The pastor, the Rev. Nick Colbaugh, will preach at the 11 a.m. worship service after which Jacob Wilson will be baptized.
Everyone is invited to attend both of these Easter services, especially the friends and family of Jacob on this very special occasion.
New Liberty Free Will is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.

First Christian
An early morning prayer service will be held on Easter Sunday morning at 7 a.m. at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. Following the prayer service, breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. with Sunday School at 8:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall. All adult classes will be combined.
Easter worship will begin at 9:45 a.m. with special music by the church choir. Also, a special communion service will be held.
There will be no evening service.
Bible study will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Upper Gap Creek
The public is invited to attend Easter services at the Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church at 11 a.m. The service is titled “I am John…He Called Me Beloved.”
There will be no evening service.
The church is located at 1380 Dry Creek Road.

Poplar Grove
Poplar Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday followed by a fellowship breakfast.
The pastor, the Rev. Eric Wright, will present the message for both the sunrise service and the 10 a.m. morning service.
Poplar Grove Baptist is located on Highway 91, Stoney Creek.
Everyone is invited.

Caldwell Springs
The WMU of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church will sponsor a bake sale Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, located at 1509 Blue Springs Road.
Proceeds will benefit a mission trip to Africa this summer.

Pinecrest Baptist
An Easter egg hunt will be held at Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Saturday from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m.
All children in the community are invited.

Sims Hill
Sims Hill Christian Church, 206 Sims Hill Road, will celebrate Easter Sunday with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at the fellowship hall, outside weather permitting. Breakfast will follow.
There will be no Sunday School with the worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m. The choir will present the cantata “Might to Save” directed by Melissa Neeley.
There will be no Sunday evening service.
Revival is planned May 5-8 with Bud Gentry of Dewey Christian Church, Mountain City, as evangelist. Special singing is planned for each service.
Services will be at 7 p.m.
Bret Jones, minister, invites the public to attend.

Hopwood Christian
A devotional tour of the stained glass windows at Hopwood Christian Church, Milligan College, will be held today and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The church will be open during that time for viewing of the windows and prayer. Devotional booklets will be available.
Guided tours will be provided today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Since the time they were installed during the bleak days of the Depression, the stained glass windows have filled the Hopwood Christian Church with light and wonder.
The public is invited.

First Baptist
A special Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church.
The Rev. Todd Hallman is pastor.

Oak Street
The Easter musical “One Day” will be presented Sunday at 10:45 a.m. at Oak Street Baptist Church.
Before the service, an Easter fellowship breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. and an Easter egg hunt for the children will be held, weather permitting.
A Good Friday Silent Lord’s Supper will be held this evening from 6 to 7 p.m.

Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will have a community-wide Good Friday service at 6 p.m. today. Communion will be served.

Borderview Christian
A Good Friday service is planned today at 7 p.m. at Borderview Christian Church during which Christ’s Last Sayings from the Cross will be examined, followed by the Adult Choir Ministry’s musical “Champion of Love.”
Saturday at 11 a.m. the children in the community are invited to an Easter egg hunt and cakewalk in addition to a hotdog lunch.
Easter Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service, the Resurrection of Christ will be celebrated with a repeat of the “Champion of Love.”
The public is invited to the services.

Nazarene Church
A community Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the church. In addition to the egg hunt, there will also be crafts.

Willow Springs
The Adult Choir of Willow Springs Baptist Church will present the Easter cantata “One Day” on Easter Sunday at 11 a.m. The choir director is Bobby Smith.
Everyone is invited.
There will be no evening service.
The church is located at 544 Willow Springs Road.

Trinity Free Will
A Good Friday service will be held this evening at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, Erwin.
The service will feature sermons on “The Final Sayings of Jesus.” Guest preachers include Andy Patterson, John Harrington, Nathan Jennings, Scott Jenkins, David Brown, Mark Simmons and Kevin Lewis.
The church is located at 1221 N. Main Ave.

Gap Creek Christian
Gap Creek Christian Church will host the annual Easter Sunrise Service with Big Springs Church of Christ and Oak Grove Christian Church at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Glen Layfield, minister at Big Springs Church of Christ, will bring the message.
Special music will be presented by a combined choir led by Ted Thomas, minister at Oak Grove Christian.
Ken Overdorf is minister at Gap Creek Christian.
Breakfast will be served following the service.
All are invited to attend.

First Presbyterian
The pastor, Dr. Brian Wyatt, will preach Easter Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St.
The sermon is titled “Resurrection Has Consequences” and is based on Mark 16: 1-8.
Other opportunities of the week include a time of meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and yoga from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday.
The public is invited.

Church of Jesus
Warren and Kimberly Finney will be in revival April 21-22 at the Church of JESUS, 809 West Main St., Johnson City.
In addition to preaching the gospel, they will be singing in all services. Services will be Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m.
