Tony Jack Garland

Tony Jack Garland, “Doc” to most, 57, was called home by his Savior on Sunday, April 13, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Garland; his mother, Della Faye (Anderson) Egolf; and son, Matthew Garland.
He is survived by his sister, Sherry; daughter, Christie; son, Zachary; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Brent; nine grandchildren, Chance, Tyler, Savannah, Logan, William, Kloey, Malachi, Kambree and Jack; and one great-grandchild, Rylan; along with several extended family members.
He was a best friend to many. More than even we know. Jannie, Charley, Rex, Rupert, Steve, Dog, Jerry and Theresa; thank you all for being by his side and the lifetime of memories.
He was an incredibly skilled and loved foreman. He played a major role in the construction and restoration of many commercial properties in the tri-cities including downtown Johnson City.
Shortly before his passing, he made the decision to receive the gift of Salvation, which he was very proud of.
Tony was a strong man. He fought hard until the very end. He will be honored and remembered by all those who loved and respected him.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Bread of Life Fellowship, 2308 Watauga Road, Johnson City, on Tuesday, April 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. with Pastor Todd Ellis officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.mtnempirecbs.com.
