Larry Junior Morton, 48, of Hampton, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born August 13, 1970 in Johnson City.
Larry was a graduate of Hampton High School and was employed as a construction worker. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. He loved to farm, horses and going on wagon trains.
He was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Bobby Jack and Billy Jack Morton; his maternal grandfather, Jack Carver; and his paternal grandparents, John and Emma Jean Morton.
Survivors include his children, Miley, Bodee, Amber and Chandra Morton and Joseph Holsclaw; his parents, Larry James and Mildred Carver Morton, Unicoi; his maternal grandmother, Ernestine Carver, Hampton; and the mother of his children, Amy Morton, Hampton.
Funeral services for Larry Junior Morton will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Jennings and the Rev. Tony Birchfield officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Carver-Cochran Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Doug Hyder, Charlie Stout, Jason Simerly, Ed Morton, Curtis Morton, Connie Williams, Ray Smith, Ned Smith and Josh Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Kale Stevens, Albert Ellison, Lynn Tolley, Della Sue Davenport and all his cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit the family at the residence of his parents, Larry and Mildred Morton, Unicoi. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
