Keep Carter County Beautiful said its Teaberry Road cleanup this past Saturday was a success.
Chairman Edward Jordan said over 35 volunteers filled three 40-yard dumpsters worth of trash during the three hours they were on the site.
Participants began the cleanup by first going over safety procedures, as part of the road ends in dangerously steep drop-offs.
“We are so grateful that our county volunteer citizens and county officials, Commissioners [Mike] Hill, [Patty] Woodby and Ward are jumping on board to ‘Keep Carter County Beautiful,’” KCCB Chairman Edward Jordan said. “Together we can make a difference.”
Teaberry has been the recent site of several illegal garbage dumpings over the past few weeks, and has made the news in the past week over arrests made in connection to the littering.
