Officials found an inmate at the Carter County Jail dead Wednesday morning.
Public Information Officer Thomas Gray said a corrections officer found 59-year-old Steven Paul Ollinger Sr. rolled over and unresponsive at around 6:15 that morning.
“Medical was called, and they were unable to resuscitate him,” Gray said.
He said the nurse at the scene believed he suffered a cardiac arrest, and the initial investigation has determined he was suffering from heart disease.
Gray was unable to provide an exact time of death, but he said paramedics escorted his body out of the building at around 6:55 Wednesday morning.
He said there is currently no evidence of foul play at this time.
