Lockie Irene Ward Finney, age 80, of the Fish Springs Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Lockie was born in Virginia to the late Frank and Inez Griffith Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Lockie was a feisty, happy and strong-willed woman. She was a hardworking mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who had wanted to “go Home” for the past six months. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Elk River Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress. Lockie had won the title of Valentine’s Day Queen at Ivy Hall Nursing Home in February and she loved working in her flower garden and doing word puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Darlene Lunceford and husband Richard, of Elizabethton; her son, Keith Finney and wife Melissa, of Hampton; her grandchildren, Brandon Lunceford and Travis Lunceford, both of Elizabethton, Amanda Wheeler and husband Dennis, of Hilton Head, SC and Autumn Finney, of Hampton; her great-grandchildren, Jaimen Lunceford and Carson Lunceford, both of Elizabethton and Jackson Wheeler and Abby Wheeler, both of Hilton Head, SC; a sister, Opal Baird and husband J.W., of Hampton; a brother-in-law, June Davenport, of Hampton; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Davenport, of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Brian Cable, Rev. Mark Potter and Rev. Charles Cable, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.
