A registration violation stop by Elizabethton Police Department turned into a brief car chase that ended with a three-vehicle crash on East Elk Avenue Wednesday.

Officials said a city police officer attempted to pull over a 1996 Dodge Caravan, but the Caravan failed to yield to the officer and fled northbound on Cedar Avenue.

The Caravan ran a stop sign on East Elk Avenue and collided with a 2010 Toyota Rav4, after which it proceeded to drive away from the initial collision, only to then collide with a parked 2005 Ford Thunderbird on Armed Forces Drive.

Police then arrested the driver, Kristopher Bradley, after a brief foot pursuit.

Medical officials transported the Toyota driver to Sycamore Shoals Hospital for treatment.

Bradley is currently facing several charges, including evading arrest, resisting stop/frisk/halt, three counts of running a stop sign and misuse of evidence of registration.

Officials said Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision and may give out additional charges.
