JoAnn Guy Trivette, 69, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. JoAnn was born in Butler, Tenn., to the late Charlie and Hazel Cable Guy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Bethany Holder; two great-granddaughters, Sidney Harrell and Christie White; two dear sisters, Cleo Guy and Elsie Oxendine; and a dear brother, Coy Guy.
JoAnn had the biggest heart and her humble nature will live on in memory by those who met her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly. JoAnn was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in the Buntontown Community. She loved fishing and being outside, but most especially she loved seeing and spending time with her family and singing.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Allen Trivette, of the home; five wonderful daughters, Tina Wyatt and husband Ray, Joy Trivette, Dee Dee Trivette, Jeannie Holder and husband Kevin and Patty Holder and husband Gary, all of Elizabethton; her dear sister, Shirley Morgan and husband Leslie of Butler; her brother, Benny Guy and wife Patricia of Concord, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Sobotka and husband Dan of Kingsport, Joyce Mandler and husband John of Alabama and Mary Sizemore and husband Bruce of Virginia; and her beloved grandchildren, Brittney Harrell, Dustin and Dakota Wyatt, Chanea, Mirissia and Joseph Orndorff, Anna Smith, Rebecca Blevins, Andrew and Bradley White and Brady and Alex Holder. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of JoAnn Guy Trivette will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Charlie Trivette and Pastor Matthew Guy officiating. Music will be under the direction of Lowell and Glenda Trivette. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday, June 24, in the Whitehead Cemetery, Cable Hollow Road, Butler, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Wyatt, Dakota Wyatt, Brady Holder, Alex Holder, Andrew White and Joseph Orndorff. Bradley White will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 11 a.m. Monday to go in procession.
