Sandra Love Curd, 76, of Piney Flats, Tenn., went to her eternal home on Monday, July 1, 2019, at her home in Piney Flats after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Emily Feathers Love. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and her husband, Charles J. Curd; a brother, Larry Love; and her sisters, Joan Keller and Grace Dempsey.
Sandra retired from the Sullivan County Schools, where she had worked most of her time at Mary Hughes School. She was a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandson. Sandra used to love going to square dances and playing Rook, which she did up until her sickness prevented it.
Sandra is survived by her son, Roddie Curd and wife Angie of Piney Flats, Tenn.; her grandson, who was the light of his grandmother’s heart, Tanner Curd, also of Piney Flats, Tenn.; a sister, Lana Love Perry of Elizabethton; and a brother-in-law, Charles Dempsey of Knoxville, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive, as well as several close neighbors.
