The National Association of Realtors(NAR) and the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors® (NETAR) honored a Carter County real estate veteran during NETAR’s recent membership meeting at the Ron Ramsey Agricultural Center in Blountville.

During that meeting Street’s membership was upgraded to Realtor Emeritus status.

Eligibility requirements for Realtor Emeritus status include NAR membership for a cumulative period of 40 years as a Realtor. Applicants must have also completed at least a year of service on a committee at the local, state or national level. Once the Emeritus Status requirements are met and the member’s application approved by NAR’s Board of Directors, the member is also identified with a Realtor Emeritus pin.

Street obtained his real estate license in 1972 and began working at Range Real Estate and Auction in Elizabethton. Street’s Realty was launched in 1975 and continued to do business from its Main Street location in Elizabethton.

Street said he still finds real estate exciting. “It’s not like what you see on TV, but if you can help people with their housing and real estate needs and make a living at it, it’s rewarding,” he said.
