Borderview
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will celebrate the talents of the church family with a worship spectacular, “Night of Praise,” Sunday at the evening service.
The service, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature a variety of talented individuals and groups with both vocal and instrumental selections to praise the Lord.
Scott Fisher and Sam Kozee are the church’s ministers.
The public is invited to attend.

Cobbs Creek
Homecoming will be observed Sunday at Cobbs Creek Baptist Church, Butler.
The Landmark Quartet will sing at the 11 a.m. service, after which lunch will be served.
The church is located at 150 Church St., and the pastor is Mack Arnold.

Hunter Memorial
Hunter Memorial Baptist Church, 599 Highway 91, will have a pulled pork barbecue community outreach fundraiser meal Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The meal will include sandwich, two sides, drink and cookie.
The cost is $8 and those attending may dine in or take out.
The smoked pulled pork and barbecue sauce will be supplied by Hawg-N-Slaw.

Unaka Baptist
An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held this evening at Unaka Baptist Church from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will feature fish, baked potatoes, cole slaw, hushpuppies and dessert.
The cost is $10.
Everyone is invited to enjoy the food and fellowship.

Singing at Covered Bridge
Sacred Journey with special guest, Forgiven, will sing Saturday evening at 7 o’clock at the Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton.
Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chair and enjoy an evening of music and fellowship.

Elizabethton Full Gospel
Revival with Cecil Hamby will be held this evening, Saturday and Sunday at Elizabethton Full Gospel Church, 2006 Forsyth Drive, Elizabethton.
Services this evening and Saturday will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.
The public is invited.

Morgan Branch
Homecoming will be held Sunday at Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church.
Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. when Sacred Journey will sing.
A meal will be served following the morning service.
The Rev. Bob Campbell is pastor.

First United Methodist
“The Cure for Unblessed Sin” is the sermon theme for Sunday morning worship Sept. 22 at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton. The scripture text is Jer. 8: 18-19:1.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.
The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6:30.
Also, the Wednesday evening Life Lessons will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Roan Street Free Will
Homecoming will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. with special singing by the Sounds of Victory. The message will be presented by the Rev. Ray Stockton, former pastor.
Following the service, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no evening service.

Lower Shell Creek
Dr. David Eubanks will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship services at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain.
He is a former president of Johnson University.

First Presbyterian
Dr. Matt Fry will speak Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. His sermon will be titled “Rigorous Worship.”
An education hour for all ages will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Also, the Jesus Seminar on the Road: Process and Politics will be held today and Saturday at the church. The meeting today will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and yoga from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday.

Moore’s Chapel
Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will have their 124th annual homecoming Sunday.
Greater Glory will sing at the 10 a.m. service. At the 11 a.m. service the choir will sing and the message will be presented by the Rev. Clarence Phillips.
Immediately following the service, lunch will be served.

Upper Gap Creek
The Faithful Two will sing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 1380 Dry Creek Road.
A love offering will be received.

Prayer Tabernacle
Homecoming will be observed Sunday at Prayer Tabernacle Church. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Morefield preaching.
Mike Presnell will present special singing.
A covered dish meal will be served following the service.

Friendship Free Will
Friendship Free Will Baptist Church will have a song service Saturday at 5 p.m.
The Big Creek Quartet and Sounds of Victory will sing.
Following the singing, a fish fry will be held in the fellowship hall.
