First Christian
Sunday services at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, are at 9:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Youth and children’s ministries are available at all services.
First Christian Church will host a “Contending for the Faith” Conference Nov. 9-10, which will be a weekend of encouragement, teaching and training, especially for school teachers and ministry leaders.
The conference will feature Mike Riddle, Apologist and Education Specialist, and Dr. David R. Reagan, founder and director of Lamb & Lion Ministries.

Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church will celebrate homecoming and its 84th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 29, at 10:30 a.m.
Tim Brokaw, a former pastor and minister at Midlands Christian Church in Lexington, S.C., will speak. Special music will be shared by members of the congregation and others.
Following the service, there will be a covered dish dinner.
There will not be any Sunday School classes that day.
Everyone is invited.

Keenburg Free Will
Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday, Sept. 29, at the 11 a.m. worship service.
A song service will be presented by Wings of Faith with Gail Elliott.
Following the service there will be a covered dish meal.
Everyone is invited.

Area Singspiration
The Fifth Sunday Singspiration, sponsored by the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship, will be held at Southside Christian Church Sunday at 6 p.m.
The service will be led by Phillip Smith, worship leader.
Area Christian churches are invited to provide someone for special music.
The public is invited to attend.

Hunter First Baptist
Jason Crabb will be featured in concert Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Hunter First Baptist Church. Also appearing will be Sacred Harmony and Comedian Mickey Bell.
Bluff City UMC
Bluff City United Methodist Church will celebrate Heritage Sunday Sept. 28 as part of the town’s Heritage Days weekend.
The congregation will host the Milligan College Choir at the morning worship service followed by a catered lunch.
Bluff City UMC is a growing church with over 200 years of ministry in the community. Anyone with ties to the church or the Edward Cox family is invited to attend the service, which begins at 10:30 a.m.

First Free Will
The Rev. Tommy Maines will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
Everyone is invited to attend.

Unaka Baptist
The Brotherhood at Unaka Baptist Church will have a country style breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.
The menu will include biscuits, gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.
The cost is $7.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy both the food and fellowship.
Roan Street Free Will
Homecoming will be held Sunday at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. with special singing by the Sounds of Victory. The message will be presented by the Rev. Ray Stockton, former pastor.
Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no evening service.

Hunter Memorial
Hunter Memorial Baptist Church, 599 Highway 91, will have a pulled pork barbecue community outreach fundraiser meal Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The meal will include sandwich, two sides, drink and dessert.
The cost is $8 and those attending may dine in or take out.
The smoked pulled pork and barbecue sauce will be supplied by Hawg-N-Slaw.
First United Methodist
“Under His Wings” is the title of Sunday’s message at morning worship at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton. The message is based on Psalm 91: 1-6, 14-16.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Coolagers meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Also, Wednesday Evening Life Lessons is held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall.

Faith Free Will
Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 25 Veterans Way, Johnson City, will have a fundraiser Saturday to purchase property adjoining the church for parking.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. with food, which will include spaghetti and french bread, hotdogs and all the trimmings, nachos and cheese, funnel cakes, and chips and coffee.
Music will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature Tim and Sandra Hughes, the Singing Duggers, and the Morgan Branch Singers.
Everyone is invited.
First Presbyterian
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will have the message Sunday at morning worship at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The theme of the message is “Why Bother?” based on Gen. 32: 22-32.
The service begins at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Other events of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:16 p.m.; and yoga from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
