FROM STAFF REPORTS
RYE COVE, VA – For fans of offensive football, Rye Cove, VA was the place to be Friday night as both teams told their defense to stay on the sidelines and let the offense settle the matter as the Eagles managed to pull out the offensive slobber-knocker by a 60-42 score.
Unaka was hoping to get back on track with a win, but the Eagles had other things in mind as they kept their scoreboard operator’s fingers busy putting points on their side of the board.
Coach O’Brien Bennett’s team didn’t lay down without a fight as the Rangers managed to have a huge night offensively themselves – they just couldn’t keep up as the Eagles won by 18 points.
The Rangers go from the frying pan to the fire as they must now take on the red-hot Hampton Bulldogs who pulled off the big upset over South Greene, 30-0.
