Connie Estep Vaughn

Connie Estep Vaughn, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, from her residence. Connie was born in Carter County to the late Conley and Hattie Hyder Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Vaughn; a brother, Benny Estep; and her great-grandson, Timothy James Vaughn.
Connie had worked at East Tennessee Undergarment in Elizabethton and was a member of Elizabethton Alliance Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, James Marshall Vaughn II and wife Donna of Elizabethton, Tenn.; her daughter, Martha Elizabeth Hopkins and husband Jeff of Prattville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brandi Estep and husband Donny of Kingsport, Joshua Vaughn and wife Cassie of Johnson City, Amanda Battles and husband Nathan of Montgomery, Ala., and Jeffrey Hopkins and wife Emily of Prattville, Ala.; two great-grandchildren, Edgar Estep and Beau Battles; a sister, Mildred Barnes and husband Mike of Orlando, Fla.; and a brother, Bobby Estep and wife Gail of Orlando, Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Connie Estep Vaughn will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 1, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Louie O’Bourke officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Josh Vaughn, Donny Estep, Chris McQueen, Jeffrey Hopkins, Jeff Hopkins and Jon McAllister. Honorary pallbearers will be Kit McQueen and members of Elizabethton Alliance Church. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), P.O. Box 47, Nampa, Idaho 83653.
