Arlyne Smith Woodruff

Arlyne Smith Woodruff, 82, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Rochester, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Grant and Gladys Burg Smith. She had lived in Tennessee since 1978.
Arlyne was retired after 36 years of service from the State of Tennessee Department of Employment Security. She was a member of the Liberty Fellowship, Johnson City, and a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J. “Woody” Woodruff, December 1, 1993, and by four brothers and two great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her children, Michelle Woodruff, of the home, Linda Hatcher and husband Steve of Florida, Carolyn Lulicucci and husband Jeff of New Jersey and Henry Woodruff and wife Becky, Johnson City; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Stelter of Arkansas and Mary Smith, Rochester, Minn.; and a brother, Randy Smith of Arkansas.
Funeral services for Arlyne Smith Woodruff will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. Music will be provided by Amy Foster Duncan and Henry Woodruff. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her son, Henry Woodruff. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Kelly Whitten and Lincare of Johnson City, Dr. Jeff Farrow and the staff of East Tennessee Pulmonary Associates.
