Chamber: Christmas Parade to continue as originally scheduled

With conversation via social media bringing up the question of a date change for the 2019 Christmas parade; the Chamber would like to take the time to notify that our Christmas Parade will continue to take place on the originally scheduled date of Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.

After much consideration, conversation and contact with those individuals and groups who are planning to participate in the upcoming Christmas Parade, the Chamber Board has decided to keep the scheduled date and time of Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. for the 2019 Christmas Parade.

According to the Chamber, there are currently over 800 participants from among more than 50 different groups from Elizabethton and Carter County (and this number could grow) who are planning on participating in the Christmas Parade next weekend. Since the parade date is annually set for the first Saturday in December; many of these groups have planned for months in advance and would not be able to take part in the event if the date or time were changed.
