KNOXVILLE (AP) — A Tennessee woman convicted of failing to help a student receive medical attention was released early from a 30-day jail sentence.

Chelsea Nicole Hopson pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact in the death of 15-year-old Zach Munday.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kimberly Glenn told news outlets the 18-year-old Hopson was freed Saturday for good behavior, before her Dec. 1 release date.

Munday died in May from blunt force trauma after a confrontation with 19-year-old Isaiah Trey Brooks at a party hosted by Noel Leyva, also 19.

Authorities say Hopson, Brooks and Leyva waited hours before calling for help. Munday died after several days in a coma.

Brooks was sentenced to 10 years for reckless homicide. Leyva received three years’ probation for being an accessory after the fact.
