Cyclones play host to four-way swim meet

The Elizabethton Cyclone swim team welcomed three other teams to the pool at Elizabethton High School Thursday evening as Cherokee, Sullivan South, and Volunteer joined host Elizabethton for a four-way meet.
Elizabethton had a good showing in the meet with some swimmers having a banner night in the water.
In the Girls 200-yard Medley Relay, the Cyclone team of Taylor McDougall, Madison Arney, Tehya Laws, and Susanna Digby finished third with a time of 2:52.13.
Digby, Olivia Markley, and Arney finished second, fourth, and fifth respectively in the Girls 200-yard Freestyle race for Elizabethton. In the same event for the boys, Caleb Fair swam to a second-place finish.
In the boys 200-yard IM, Caden Rogers took first place with a time of 2:45.06.
Riley Owens finished in sixth place in the Boys 50-yard Freestyle race with a time of 30.75.
Digby continued to swim strong all evening as the Lady Cyclone swimmer captured third place in the Girls 100-yard Butterfly event.
Owens returned to the water to capture a third-place finish in the Boys 100-yard Freestyle.
In Girls 500-yard Freestyle, Laws swam a 7:45.34 for a first-place finish. Digby also secured a first-place swim in the Girls 100-yard Backstroke with a 1:24.09 while teammate Markley came in second with a time of 1:30.68.
In the Boys 100-yard Breaststroke, Fair and Rogers finished one-two with Fair finishing in 1:26.53 beating Rogers by .15 seconds.
