Weddings: Hill – Skerlak

Stephanie Bree Hill of Elizabethton and Austin Joseph Skerlak of Concord, N.C., were married at four o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 9, 2019. The ceremony and reception were held at The View at Sunset Ridge in Cleveland, Tenn. The Reverend Chuck O’Conner officiated the exchange of vows.

The bride is the daughter of Harold Hill and Ms. Regina Lea Hill. She is the granddaughter of the late J.E. Shipley and the late Lila Lea Shipley.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skerlak. He is the grandson of Reverend Merrill Perkins and the late Virginia Perkins.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Regina Lea Hill, and her father, Harold Hill. She walked down the aisle to Canon in D by the Gateway Ramblers in a white Oleg Cassini dress.

She was accompanied by her maid of honor, Lena Schwallenberg, and her bridesmaids, Rebekah Cisney, Faith Cisney, Ruth Ann Reason and Carly Marshall, who wore floor-length forest green dresses with gold jewelry.

The groom was accompanied by his best man, Frank Skerlak, as well as his groomsmen, Max Marshall and Jake Barbee. The men processed into the ceremony to the Ookpik Waltz by the Blake Whitmore Trio.

The bride graduated from East Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Most recently, she graduated with her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is currently employed at Mississippi State University.

The groom attended East Tennessee State University, where he studied Surveying and Mapping. He is currently employed by JMC Professional Surveying and Mapping.

The couple recently returned from their six-day honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. They reside in Starkville, Miss.
