Big Springs Church of Christ
A piano celebration “The Birthday of A King” featuring Scott Reynolds will be presented Sunday, December 22, at 6 p.m. at Big Springs Church of Christ. The church is located at 1106 Gap Creek Road. The public is invited.
New Liberty
New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church will complete a month-long celebration of Christ’s birth Sunday as the pastor, Rev. Nick Colbaugh will provide a Christmas message preceded by Christmas hymns presented by the Church Choir during the 11 a.m. worship service. A Youth Talent show and “The Miracle of Christmas” puppet skit presented by the teen class will occur during the 6 p.m. worship service. Pastor Colbaugh invites everyone to attend both of these Christmas services uplifting the birth of Jesus Christ. The church is located on 113 Peters Hollow Road, located near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church,1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will have a Community Candlelight and Communion Service Tuesday, December 24, at 8 p.m. The public is invited.
Moore’s Chapel
Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will have a Christmas play Sunday at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited. The Rev. Richard Blevins is pastor.
Grace Baptist
A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. The Lord’s Supper will be served, and a message will be presented by the pastor, the Rev. Travis Tyler. The public is invited.
First Free Will Baptist
The Choir of First Free Will Baptist Church will present a Christmas cantata Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Grady Holder is choir director. Also, a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to both services. The Rev. Nathan Jennings is pastor.
Poplar Grove
The choir at Poplar Grove Baptist Church will present the cantata “Simply Christmas” at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. Poplar Grove Baptist is located on Highway 91, Stoney Creek. The Rev. Eric Wright, pastor, and the congregation invite the public to attend.
Watauga Valley
The Adult Choir of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church will present their Christmas musical Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. The message will follow. The youth will present their Christmas play at 6 p.m. Sunday. Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church is located on Highway 91 above Unaka High School. The pastor, the Rev. Bill Greer invites the public to attend.
Christmas Organ Concert
“Making Christmas Memories,” a Christmas organ concert will be performed by David Arney at 7 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. Visitors are invited to come, sit in the candlelit sanctuary and quietly listen to the sacred sounds of Christmas. First United Methodist is located at 325 E. E St.
Memorial Presbyterian
A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Presbyterian Church. The service will feature music and Bible readings. The service concludes with a special hymn sung by candlelight. This is a family celebration, so there will be no nursery. The pastor is the Rev. Tim Mindemann, who along with the congregation invite the public to attend.
Oak Street
A Christmas Eve service will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Oak Street Baptist Church. The pastor is the Rev. Chris Shumate.
First Baptist
A Christmas Eve service will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. The pastor is the Rev. Todd Hallman.
Roan Street Free Will
Stetson Stafford will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church. Sunday evening, David Martin will preach at the 6 p.m. service. The church is located at 820 N. Roan St., and the public is invited.
Trinity Baptist
Trinity Baptist Church, Doe Ave., will have its regular Wednesday evening service on Christmas Day. The Rev. James Richardson is pastor.
First Presbyterian
The message “Love Nothing” will be presented Sunday by Pastor Brian Wyatt at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. An Education Hour will be at 9:45 a.m. This week, Meditation will not meet nor will the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group. Exercise Class will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. and yoga, Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. First Presbyterian is located at 119 W. F St.
