Rose Hinkle

Rose Hinkle, 88, of Elizabethton, received her call home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at her home after a lengthy illness.
In addition to her parents, Thomas Whitt and Louisa Childress Whitt, and 10 siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Kermit Hinkle Jr., and two grandsons, Jeremy and Kenny Hinkle.
Her survivors include three daughters, Rosetta Lunceford (Jarrett) and Sherry Shelton, both of Elizabethton, and Sandy Parsons (Roger) of Canon City, Colo.; one son, Ken Hinkle (Kathy) of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandsons, Adam, Alan and Kermit Hinkle, all of Elizabethton; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Hinkle of Knoxville, Tenn.
Rose was a member of Hope Regular Primitive Baptist Church in Gray, Tenn., where she served as clerk for many years. She was a fourth grade school teacher before becoming a mother and homemaker. She served the Lord her entire life, followed by her family second.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, Tenn., on Friday, December 27, between 1 and 2 p.m. with the service to follow.
