Kyle Christian Moore, 23, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2019, in Roan Mountain, Tenn. Kyle was born in San Diego, Calif., to Michael James Moore and Darline Marie Kygar Garrison. Kyle was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Donald Kygar; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Simmons; his paternal grandfather, John Moore Sr.; and an uncle, John Moore Jr.
Kyle was currently the manager of White Wolf Ski Shop in Beech Mountain, N.C., and was of the Christian faith. He graduated from Elizabethton High School, Class of 2015, where he was #23 on the Elizabethton Cyclone Football Team and #20 during his senior year.
Kyle was an avid outdoor enthusiast. Among his favorite outdoor activities were skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, canoeing and mountain biking. He had recently become a certified Ski Tech and was working to become an EMT for the Ski Patrol. Kyle also had a love for aviation and it was a future plan for him to get his aviation license.
Those left to cherish Kyle’s many memories include his mother, Darline Moore Garrison and husband Denny of Elizabethton; his father, Mike Moore and wife Trisha of Elizabethton; his brothers, Michael David Moore and wife Kelsey, Zachary James Moore and Justin Thompson, all of Elizabethton; his sisters, Lindsey Berkley and Alexis Thompson, both of Elizabethton; his maternal grandmother, Margie Simmons of California; his maternal grandfather, Larry Kygar of California; his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Erwin and JoAnn Lueker of Elizabethton; his maternal great-grandmother, Darline Kygar of California; his maternal great-grandmother, Maria Real of California; an uncle, Daniel Kygar of California; an aunt, April Simmons of California; two nephews, Ryker Moore and Nathaniel Berkley; one niece, Addison Thompson; a special friend, Hannah Oliver of Elizabethton; and countless family members also survive from California to Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton. A service to honor Kyle’s life will follow the visitation with Reverend Doug Hartley officiating. A procession will follow the service to Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Denny Garrison, Zachary Moore, Michael Moore, Johnny Moore, Justin Thompson, Jordan Hyder, Pat G. McCauley, Christian Glover and Caleb Armstrong. Following the graveside service, the family will hold a celebration of life for Kyle at Hunter Memorial Baptist Church, 599 Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
