Members of the Unicoi County High School Mock Trial team will be the presenters of the upcoming program of the Julius Dugger-John Carter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The Mock Trial Team students compete regionally and statewide in the competition sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of the Tennessee Bar Association.

This program involves legal and civic instruction, public speaking and legal strategy. Each team, comprised of 6 to 12 students, develops arguments, witness testimony and cross examination from a case provided by the state bar. Tennessee boasts the National Mock Trial champions, Agathos Classical School. Participants in Unicoi County’s varsity team will present a direct examination for the chapter members.

The Julius Dugger-John Carter Chapter DAR will meet Saturday, Jan. 4, at 10:15 a.m. at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library. The public, as well as anyone interested in joining the DAR, is welcome to attend and observe these young people and future leaders in action.
