A Man of Inspiration

There’s different types of characteristics when talking about a hero. But have you heard the type of characteristics Steve Tipton has? Today I’m gonna tell you my point of view of the type of guy Steve Tipton really is. He’s the guy that had a rough childhood; the one that was living in a car at age 15 because his parents didn’t care. The one moving around year by year and entering a new school, always being the new kid. But don’t let his childhood define who he is. Today, at age 33, he’s married, has four wonderful kids, an amazing job at the Carter County Sheriff’s Department. This man is brave, courageous, and arrogant. Those characteristics define what kind of man my father is. Some may call his story typical, but I like to call it an inspiration.

This story is part of a series of articles from Michael Grindstaff’s Language Arts Class at Elizabethton High School.

Students were asked to write about inspirational people in their lives. The Elizabethton Star is proud to share these with our readers.
