Reader attacks Chick-fil-A on policy change

To the Editor:
In 2012 when Chick-fil-A founder, Truett Cathy, said in an interview he believed in one man, one woman marriage as put forth by the Bible, homosexuals (LGBT) groups attacked and boycotted Chick-fil-A. In response, Gov. Mike Huckabee organized ‘Chick-fil-A Day’ which became the most successful day with highest sales in the chain’s history.
Since that day their sales have doubled becoming the third largest fast food chain in America. Despite their success, the company decided in November 2019 to stop supporting the Salvation Army, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Paul Anderson Youth Home. All three of these had been branded as anti-LGBT due to policies consistent with biblical marriage and sexuality. The three support Bible marriage between one man and one woman only.
The President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Tassopoulos, in an interview to a business publication said Chick-fil-A will focus giving on three general areas: Housing, feeding and education. Also communicating they will no longer fund the Salvation Army, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tassopoulos said they will fund Covenant House International and this will clarify who they are.
How can Chick-fil-A claim to want to concentrate on housing/feeding people through their giving when they’re refusing funding for the Salvation Army, the largest housing and food bank entity in the world? What are we to make of their support for the pro-LGBT Covenant House International, an organization started by a priest who became a pedophile? Breitbart News reported Chick-fil-A is mired in controversy after the discovery of its donations to Covenant House, an organization that celebrates LGBTQ pride and hosts a Drag Queen Story hour in New York for children. Chick-fil-A also donated to the far-left anti-Christian, Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) which tries to destroy pro-life, pro-family and pro-biblical marriage organizations. The SPLC labels Christian individuals and groups as “haters.”
It’s sad to see Chick-fil-A cave to political correctness and now celebrate and support LGBTQ pride like Disney, most of the media, Hollywood and the Democrat Party. According to Pastor Geoffrey Grider, Chick-fil-A is out of the closet and it’s clearly no longer a Christian Corporation. I agree, but will still eat there but won’t go out of my way to eat there because they lost my respect and loyalty.
Local Chick-fil-A restaurants should distance themselves from the corporation by only playing Christian music and giving out Christian tracts and having signs, “We love Jesus,” etc. to gain Christian respect and loyalty back. The Chick-fil-A leadership wants to establish a major presence in liberal left cities and foreign countries and is willing to betray Christians and the Bible to accomplish the same. Chick-fil-A should be a lesson to us that we can’t count on anything, anyone, except Jesus. The Bible says friendship with the world equals enemy of God. They dumped the cow logo to worship the golden calf of profits. Their leadership is chicken and made this cowardly decision for profits. The Bible says, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”
