Several activities are on the January calendar for the historic Sabine Hill House, the stately home built by Mary Patton Taylor, widow of Brigadier General Nathaniel Taylor.

The site has been described as one of the finest examples of Federal architecture in the state of Tennessee. Tours of the house will be offered Jan. 8 and 22 at 1 p.m. There will be a cost of $7 for adults and $3 for children. Children six and under will be admitted free.

Chad Bogart, Museum Curatorial Assistant at Sycamore Shoals State Park, will lead the tours, during which visitors will have the opportunity to take in the colorful and architecturally detailed interior while learning about the influential Taylor family, who called Sabine Hill home in the early 19th Century.
